Measuring Guide for Fibre Seat Cushion ReplacementsFibre cushions are soft, supportive, and great for comfort — but they don’t look after themselves. Over time, the filling compresses and flattens out, especially if the seats aren’t plumped regularly. This guide explains how to get the right fit when replacing old fibre interiors and how we make sure your new cushions sit and feel like they should.Replacing Old Fibre Interiors?Fibre cushions need proper upkeep.Unlike foam or feather-wrapped options, fibre cushions can go flat fast if neglected. They rely on regular reshaping to maintain their loft. If your sofa seats have lost their bounce or feel uneven, it’s time to replace the interiors with new high-loft hollowfibre pads.To order, all we need is your cushion cover size — the internal width, depth, and border height. From there, we’ll calculate the correct cushion size to give you a well-filled, supportive result.📏 Understanding Crown HeightWe take care of the loft.Fibre cushions require a good crown — that raised centre that gives the cushion its plump, structured look. However, the fill has to be compressed just enough to stop it from ballooning out or sitting loose in the cover. As a rule of thumb:A cushion with a 7.5cm border will usually finish around 15cm high in the centre once filled and compressed with hollowfibre. You don’t need to guess this. We calculate the loft and fill volume based on your measurements and build the cushion to sit right from day one.✍️ What You Need to Tell UsJust the cover size. When ordering your replacement fibre seat cushions, simply provide:Width (side to side, inside the cover) Depth (front to back, also inside seam) Border height (if boxed or piped)That’s all we need to size the new inserts accurately. No need to measure your old insert — by the time you’re replacing it, it’s already shrunk or sagged.🔁 Add Extra for Fibre FillFibre needs room to compress.Unlike foam, fibre cushions work best when they’re slightly oversized compared to the cover. This creates the right amount of pressure inside the fabric, giving the cushion structure and helping it hold its shape.Example:If your cover measures 60cm x 55cm, we’ll likely size the cushion at 63cm x 58cm to allow for fibre compression.🧼 Daily MaintenancePlumping is not optional.Fibre cushions demand more attention than foam or feather-wrapped cores. They should be plumped up every day to restore the loft and avoid uneven seating. If not maintained, the fibre clumps and flattens — and once it’s gone, it’s gone.If daily plumping sounds like too much hassle, consider switching to a foam core with a fibre wrap for better shape retention and less maintenance.📦 Send Us Your Covers (Recommended)We’ll fill to fit.For the best result, send us your empty cushion covers once you’ve placed your order.
