 Continuous Zigzag Springs (also called serpentine springs) are widely used in modern upholstery and furniture making. Designed to provide reliable seat support, these springs are supplied in long rolls that can be cut to size and fitted with clips.

For best results, zig zag springs should be installed under tension so they sit almost flat, with just a slight arc. Spacing should be 2–3 inches apart depending on the level of firmness required — the closer the spacing, the firmer the seat will feel.

 Continuous Zigzag Springs once fitted, bracing wire or cord can be attached across the springs. This allows them to function as a single unit, spreading the load evenly and increasing durability.

When Continuous Zigzag Springs are cut to size, the original kinked ends are removed. These kinks are vital because they lock the spring securely into the clips. To restore the kink and ensure a proper fit, use the Osborne Spring End Former. Without re-kinking, springs risk slipping out of the clips during use.
