🧭 How to Browse Warwick Fabric Collections – And Why It Matters

Before placing your order, we highly recommend taking a few minutes to browse the Warwick Fabrics All Collections page. This is where you can see what each range has to offer, from bold velvets to timeless linens and everything in between. Warwick Fabrics A to Z should be you one stop shop to find the perfect fabric

Click on any collection that catches your eye. Once inside, click on a swatch image to view all the available colours. But there’s more to this page than just looks — it gives you everything you need to know to make the right decision:

  • Fabric composition

  • Roll width

  • Pattern repeat (if applicable)

  • Washing and care instructions

  • Recommended usage (upholstery, curtains, commercial etc.)

  • And most importantly: Wearability, shown by the Martindale rub test figure

🧪 What is the Martindale Rub Test — And Why Should You Care?

The Martindale rub test tells you how hard-wearing the fabric is. It measures how many rubs the fabric can withstand before it shows signs of wear. Here’s a simple guide:

  • 10,000–15,000 rubs – Light use (decorative scatter cushions, curtains)

  • 15,000–25,000 rubs – General domestic use (sofas, occasional chairs)

  • 25,000–30,000+ rubs – Heavy use – ideal for family homes, rentals, or commercial settings

In plain English: the higher the number, the tougher the fabric. So, if you’ve got kids, pets, or a husband who insists on putting his feet up, check that score before you commit.

🎯 And Don’t Forget: Order a Free Sample – It Only Takes Seconds

Even with all this handy info, you should still order a free sample before you buy. Why? Because no matter how good your phone or computer screen is, colours never look exactly the same in real life.

Ordering a sample lets you:

  • See the true colour under your own lighting

  • Feel the texture and weight for yourself

  • Make sure it works with the rest of your decor

The sample request takes just a few seconds to fill out, and it could save you from a very expensive mistake.

If you’re still unsure, give us a shout — we’ll happily point you in the right direction. Better safe than sorry.
