Reconstituted Foam Sheets (Recon Foam)

Recon foam is an eco-friendly option made from recycled foam off-cuts. When new foam is trimmed during the production of cushions and mattresses, the leftover pieces don’t go to waste—they’re collected, shredded, and bonded together to form a new, solid foam block. The result? A firmer, more supportive foam compared to standard types.

This type of foam is super versatile. You’ll often find it in gym equipment, bar stools, banquet seating, and landing mats. It’s also great as a sturdy base layer underneath softer foam when you need extra support.

Recon foam comes in three firmness levels: 6lb, 8lb, and 10lb.

  • 6lb is ideal for everyday upholstery and commercial seating.

  • 8lb can handle all the same uses as 6lb, plus it’s tough enough for gym gear and mats.

  • 10lb is the firmest of the bunch—perfect for high-impact gym equipment where serious support is a must.
