If your DFS sofa seat cushions have flattened, sagged, or lost their shape, it’s probably time to replace the interiors. Our made-to-measure DFS feather seat cushions are designed to restore support, comfort, and structure to your original seats. Every cushion is calculated to the correct crown height and tailored to your existing covers for a proper fit that lasts.
While DFS is our most common request, we also build custom feather cushions for Sofology, SCS, Furniture Village, Next, and John Lewis sofas.
Each feather cushion is handmade in the UK using either 100% duck feather or a feather and down blend. The fill type depends on how soft or firm you prefer your seat. To ensure the cushion performs well, we calculate the crown height using your cover’s measurements and the thickness of the side border. As a result, the cushion won’t sag, underfill, or sit awkwardly.
Rather than relying on standard sizes, we build everything to your measurements. This gives you a proper fit and a professional finish, every time.
We’ve made thousands of replacement feather seat cushions for customers across the UK. Whether you’ve got a modern corner sofa or a deep three-seater, we’ve likely seen it before.

A proper seat cushion needs a raised centre — the crown. Without it, the cushion will look deflated and feel unsupportive. Simply filling to the seam dimensions isn’t enough.
We determine the correct crown height using:
The cushion’s width, depth, and side panel
Your preferred fill type
Example: A cushion with a 7.5cm border usually finishes around 15cm high at the centre once filled.
No need to calculate this yourself — just send us your cover sizes and we’ll take care of the rest.
We offer three cushion build types to suit different preferences:
100% Duck Feather – Traditional feel with soft support; daily plumping required
Feather & Down Blend – Softer, lighter, and slightly loftier
Feather-Wrapped Foam Core – Firm and supportive; ideal if you want to reduce maintenance
These options all work well in DFS feather seat cushions, depending on how firm or plush you like your seating.
Feather cushions do need daily plumping to keep their shape. If that’s not realistic for your household, consider switching to the foam-core version — it gives the same feel on top but requires far less upkeep.
Ordering is straightforward. To begin:
Send us your cover measurements — width, depth, and side panel height
Or send in the covers themselves and we’ll do the rest
If you're unsure, just drop us a message with photos. We’ll guide you through it without any hard sell.
