I guess Cop 26 was either a success or a failure. Depending on your point of view. Just because the “Great and the Good” can’t get their act together, doesn’t mean we ordinary folk should do nothing. Here at foam4u and our sister site www.thefoamshop.co.uk we do our bit to reduce waste. As we are one of the UK’s largest suppliers of Foam Cut to Size. we end up with lots of offcuts. Traditionally this off-cuts would be bailed up and sent back on a lorry to the manufacture to be turned in to Chip Foam. This process takes a huge amount of energy to transport the off cuts, render it down in to small shredded pieces. The foam is compressed and is steamed at very high temperatures to re-bond the shredded foam in to usable sheets.

We don’t do any of this . Our smaller offcuts are shredded down and sold as Cushion filler. Larger pieces are bonded back together with a water based adhesive and turned in to Budget mattress’s (Doubles & King-size £75)

We are part of a National Mattress Recycling Initiative, we take in part worn or damaged mattresses. Strip them down and harvest the usable foam. Turning this waste product in to Outdoor Seating, Ped beds. and an eco alternative to our Standard Foam Cut to Size and numerous other products.
